Frequently Asked Questions

  • In 2016, the Session formed a Long-Range Strategic Planning team with the goal of developing a ministry blueprint to take us to our 175th anniversary in 2023. As a result, a Campus Master Planning team was formed and discerned a set of values to guide their work.

“Radical hospitality” was a core value identified to capture the idea that all who enter the Campus should feel welcomed and a sense of belonging. The Church engaged local architect Houser Walker in late December 2017 to create a Master Plan to bring the project values to life. Work on the plan took place from 2018-2020.

After a successful Capital Campaign (2021), the Church began construction on August 29, 2022, and met our goal to complete Phase One (Smith Building renovations and improvements) of the Master Plan in 2024. • The construction plan has been carefully designed to avoid disruption of routine congregational and community services work on campus. However, from time to time, there may be minor changes that will impact the Campus. We will always communicate those changes on the Capital Project website as well as in the Weekly Bulletin and through the staff.

Please check this website often for news about the project and potential changes for how you interact with the campus.
